Layout Description
Upgrading to Town Hall level 11 ushers players into the modern era of Clash of Clans, defined by a third, game-changing Hero and a fearsome new global defense that alters the very nature of attacking. This level is all about large-scale, powerful armies and the strategic depth required to command them. The upgrade costs 6,000,000 Gold and takes 14 days. The Town Hall adopts a pristine white marble and gold aesthetic, with flowing archways and a large, open courtyard.
Key Unlocks: A Third Hero and a Global Defense
TH11 introduces the most significant strategic additions since the debut of Heroes, forcing a complete rethink of both offense and defense.
- Grand Warden: The third Hero in the game. The Grand Warden is a unique support Hero who can be set to either Ground or Air mode. He doesn't have high damage or health himself; his true power lies in two abilities:
- Life Aura (Passive): He projects a large aura that provides a significant health boost to any troops inside it, making your entire army much more durable.
- Eternal Tome (Active Ability): When activated, he makes all troops inside his aura completely immune to all damage for a short period. This is arguably the most powerful ability in the game, capable of negating the damage from an Eagle Artillery strike or a giant bomb explosion. His Altar costs 6,000,000 Elixir.
- Eagle Artillery (x1): The signature defense of TH11. This is a global-range defense that remains dormant until a large number of troops have been deployed. Once activated, it targets the area with the highest concentration of troops and fires three devastating mortar-like shells that deal immense splash damage. Its presence forces attackers to be much more strategic with their troop deployment. It costs 8,000,000 Gold and takes 10 days to build.
- Additional Defenses: You can build another Cannon, Archer Tower, Wizard Tower, and X-Bow, allowing you to create an incredibly dense and powerful defensive layout.
New Offensive Potential: Masters of Lightning and Ice
Your army is bolstered by a powerful new air troop and a tactical new Dark Elixir troop.
- Electro Dragon: Unlocked in the Barracks, the Electro Dragon (E-Drag) is a powerful flying unit. Its primary attack is a chain lightning breath that can strike multiple targets. Upon being destroyed, it releases a powerful Lightning Spell, dealing further damage. The E-Drag is the cornerstone of many simple yet devastating air attacks.
- Ice Golem: A new Dark Elixir troop that acts as a mini-tank. He targets defenses and, upon destruction, releases a powerful Freeze Spell, temporarily freezing everything in a large radius. He is excellent for leading an attack, protecting other troops, and disabling key defenses.
Maximum Upgrade Levels at Town Hall 11
TH11 is a long journey, focused on upgrading your new Hero and defenses to face powerful new armies.
- Defenses:
- Cannon: Can be upgraded to Level 13.
- Archer Tower: Can be upgraded to Level 13.
- Wizard Tower: Can be upgraded to Level 9.
- X-Bow: Can be upgraded to Level 5.
- Eagle Artillery: Can be upgraded to Level 2.
- Walls: Can be upgraded to Level 12 (White Walls).
- Resource Buildings:
- Gold Storage & Elixir Storage: Can be upgraded to Level 12.
- Dark Elixir Storage: Can be upgraded to Level 7.
- Army & Hero Buildings:

Town Hall 11 completely reshapes the strategic landscape of Clash of Clans.
- On Offense: The Grand Warden is the heart and soul of every attack. Learning when to use his Eternal Tome ability is the single most important offensive skill at TH11. Using it to protect your army as it enters the core of the base, right when the Eagle Artillery fires, is a game-winning move. Strategies like "Queen Walk/Charge" combined with Miners or Hog Riders, and the popular "E-Drag spam" become dominant. The goal is to build a massive, powerful army and use the Warden's abilities to keep it alive through the most dangerous parts of the base.
- On Defense: Base building is now all about the Eagle Artillery. You must protect it at all costs, placing it deep within the base. The rest of your layout is designed to split up attackers and make them deploy troops in different locations to prevent building up the troop count needed to activate the Eagle too early. Creating "island" compartments for Inferno Towers and clever trap placements become even more critical to whittle down the massive armies that will be coming your way.
