Layout Description
Advancing to Builder Hall level 5 is a landmark achievement in the Builder Base, as it unlocks the very first Hero unit and a devastating new defensive structure. This level introduces more complex offensive and defensive strategies centered around your new Hero's abilities. The upgrade costs 250,000 Builder Gold and takes 12 hours to complete. The Builder Hall receives a significant visual upgrade, featuring a fully stone-tiled roof and a more fortified base structure.
Key Unlocks: A Hero's Altar and Advanced Defense
Builder Hall 5 brings a game-changing Hero and a powerful new splash-damage defense to your village.
- Battle Machine: This is the headline unlock of BH5. The Battle Machine, piloted by the Master Builder himself, is a powerful Hero unit. It is a melee troop with high hitpoints that targets the nearest building. Its Electric Hammer ability, which can be activated in battle, allows it to regenerate health and deal a powerful chain lightning attack for its next three hits. It is unlocked by building the Battle Machine Altar for 250,000 Builder Elixir.
- Multi-Mortar (x1): The signature defense of BH5. Unlike the single-shot Mortar in the Home Village, the Multi-Mortar fires a volley of four projectiles, making it extremely effective at controlling large areas and damaging groups of ground troops like Sneaky Archers or Raged Barbarians. It costs 300,000 Builder Gold and takes 8 hours to build.
- Additional Push Trap (x1): Another Push Trap to help control troop flow and disrupt attacker strategies.
- Additional Mine & Mega Mine (x1 each): You unlock one regular Mine and your first Mega Mine, a significantly more powerful version of the trap that deals heavy area damage to ground troops.
- Additional Walls (x10 segments): These extra wall pieces are crucial for protecting your new Multi-Mortar and creating compartments to guide troops into your Crushers and traps.
New Offensive Potential: A Mobile Cannon
Your attacking options gain a unique and powerful ground unit that combines durability with ranged damage.
- Cannon Cart: Unlocked by upgrading the Builder Barracks to level 5, the Cannon Cart is a troop that features a cannon on wheels. It has moderate health and deals good single-target damage from a distance. Its special ability, Last Stand, allows it to become a stationary defensive turret for a short time after being destroyed, continuing to fire at enemies.

Strategic Implications
The introduction of the Battle Machine revolutionizes offense at BH5. It acts as a powerful tank, capable of absorbing huge amounts of damage while leading your army. Learning when to use its Electric Hammer ability—either to save it from being destroyed or to break through a key objective—is a critical skill. Attacks often revolve around creating a funnel for the Battle Machine to target key defenses.
Defensively, the Multi-Mortar provides a strong deterrent against the popular Sneaky Archer strategies. Its placement is crucial, as it needs to cover a wide area of your base while being protected from direct attacks. The combination of the Crusher and the Multi-Mortar creates a formidable defensive core against ground assaults, forcing attackers to be more strategic with their troop deployment or to pivot to air attacks with Baby Dragons.
